European R&I Days: Mission Proposals delivered
During the recent Research and Innovation Days, organised by the European Commission, the five Mission Boards have delivered their proposal to the Commission. Mission were envisioned in Horizon Europe as a new element to solve a pressing challenge in society. The mission are envisioned to be bold, inspiring and relevant to society and its citizens. The Mission Proposals contain longer-term and interim goals and are the finalisation of the June 2020 versions. In the presented proposals, concrete measure were added. What needs to become more detailed the upcoming months, is the organisation of the missions, the amount of funding needed, and how to integrate concrete measures with research-driven character. The R&I Days were organsied fully virtual this year, and during the three days, over 35,000 researchers, entrepreneurs and citizens participated in discussions about the future of research and innovation in Europe and beyond.
